Marina di Zambrone has a wonderful, wide sandy beach called „il Paradiso del Sub“. The crystal clear, turquoise colored waters are a delight for those who love swimming and bathing in the sea.
Marina di Zambrone's "Acquapark" with its varied water games for the "young and young at heart" is well-known far beyond the area.
It is about 4 km to the mountain town of Zambrone located on a macchia covered hill.
From Zambrone’s train station, where parking is available, a short foot path takes you to a rocky bay called "la spiaggia del leone" (Lion’s beach).
It is great fun to go swimming and snorkeling in the clean and clear waters of the sea there. Under water, you discover all kinds of fish, e.g. sea bream, dentex and mackerel.
From Zambrone, it is only about 13 km to Zungri and its famous grottos. The "cave town" of Zungri came into being in Byzantine times and was inhabited by Christian monks far into the 14th century. The cave town was a place of refuge from the Saracens, who came across the sea to invade the coasts. You can go on an exciting discovery tour of the round about 80 dwellings dug into the soft sandstone a long time ago.
