At Capo Vaticano, visitors find in perfection what Calabria is known for within and beyond the borders of Italy: water of sparkling emerald green, picturesque sandy beach bays and a breathtaking panorama.
On a ledge of world-famous Capo Vaticano lie the premises of Praia di Fuoco, the Beach of Fire.
On the spacious premises (ca. 26,000 m²) in the comune of Ricadi, the owner had several small holiday homes built, carefully placing them apart so as to ensure the privacy of those seeking relaxation there and to preserve the authenticity of the property.
From the trails along the steep coast, your gaze wanders as far as the Lipari Islands and Sicily. A stepped path takes you down to the private sandy beach (for external guests only accessible by boat). From there, you can walk on to other marvelous beaches which are otherwise only accessible by boat.
From the point of view of architecture, the traditional local style has been respected, which bears witness to Calabria’s eventful history with centuries of foreign rule.
Each holiday home is individually designed and in harmony with its surroundings, which are planted with eucalyptus and pine trees and cactuses. Furnishing of the houses is unpretentious but functional, which is based on the owner’s wish to keep things natural inside, too.
The holiday homes are similar in layout and furnishing. We have chosen for your stay holiday homes Capri (max. 6 pers.) and Lipari (max 8 pers.). Upon request, we can also arrange for bookings of holiday homes Alicudi, Ammiraglia and Vulcano.
The kitchens are equipped with 4-burner gas stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment. The bedrooms are furnished with double beds, the bathrooms with shower/WC/bidet.
In the spacious living-dining room you can make yourself comfortable on the sofa (also sleeping facility for two persons) and enjoy your meals together at the wooden dining table.
WiFi access is available in the communal area of the property.
Each house includes a spacious outdoor area, which, in most cases, offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The roofed terraces are furnished with outdoor tables and chairs.
From the top of the steep coast, well-secured steps (Important: only for surefooted persons!) lead down to the private beach of Praia di Fuoco, where white sand and crystal clear waters of bright turquoise await you.
Although Praia di Fuoco is located on the steep coast, parking is no problem and available on the spacious and fenced premises.
The nearest supermarket and a ristorante with pizzeria are at a walking distance of about 300 m from Praia di Fuoco.
There is also a bike rental at Capo Vaticano (please inquire at our agency before leaving for your holidays).
It takes you only a few minutes by car to Tropea with its wonderful Old Town and fascinating history.
Should it come to pass, against all odds, that you have taken enough delight in the breathtaking panorama at Praia di Fuoco, then do stop by the friendly small town of Pizzo.
From morning to night, people are drawn to Piazza della Repubblica. You must stop at one of the numerous ice cream parlors and try the famous tartufo, which was 'invented' at Pizzo: it is a chocolate-nut ice cream creation, filled with liquid chocolate cream and dusted with cocoa.
